Involvement in society
Anecoop is committed to catering for society’s needs. In line with this principle we sponsor and play an active role in a number of foundations and associations. These include:
Globalgap: An association for distributors and producers from around the world which advocates safe and sustainable agriculture and seeks to establish a protocol for good agricultural practice. Anecoop is the only Spanish organisation represented on Globalgap’s board of directors.
Freshfel Europe: European forum for the fruit and vegetables distribution industry. Anecoop is on the board of directors.
5-a-day Association: Encourages Spanish consumers to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. Anecoop is a member of this association and is on the board of directors.
Foundation for Flavour and Health: Encourages people to eat fresh fruit and vegetables. Anecoop currently holds the Foundation’s chairmanship.
Anecoop Foundation: The Foundation’s mission is to develop and experiment with new varieties, cultivation practices and agricultural production systems. It focuses its research on citrus fruit, stone fruit, grapes, kaki and vegetables and salad stuffs.
Anecoop-University of Almeria Foundation: This has a similar mission to the Anecoop Foundation and focuses specifically on vegetables and salad stuffs. It also gives newly-qualified agricultural engineers the chance to gain work experience.
Valencia Quality Foundation: Fosters quality in Valencian companies and the use of the EFQM Model (a European model which measures company excellence).
ETNOR Foundation: Advocates ethical conduct in companies and organisations. It promotes the study, development and diffusion of economic and business ethics.
Committee of Citrus Fruit Experts in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture: Representing the Spanish Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives.
